Report: Sweepstakes and lottery fraud often comes from Jamaica, targets older people

In October 2017, a Groton resident reported to the Better Business Bureau a scam of being told he or she was the lucky winner of $150,000, and had to send a $1,000 delivery fee and then $850 for a certificate fee to get the winnings. The victim never saw the promised money and lost the money that was sent.
